Description
With our excursion to Luxor, whose name translates as ‘the palaces,’ you can get acquainted with the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, built by the pharaohs for their afterlife. Great Nile helped them, dividing Thebes into two halves: The East Bank and the West Bank. The East bank, where the sun rises, is the «city of the living,» where the pharaohs lived and where you can see the temples of Karnak and Luxor, connected by a 60-kilometer alley along which the pharaohs moved in ancient times (visiting the Karnak temple from the inside). In addition, you will have a walk along the Nile (crossing to the West Bank to the «city of the Dead,» with the funeral temples and the tombs of the pharaohs) and visit Banana Island. On the West Bank, you will see the Colossi of Memnon, see the most interesting tombs of the pharaohs in the Valley of the King, and have lunch in Luxor.
Essentials: water, breakfast cereals at the hotel reception, comfortable clothes (warm clothes for the night in winter), hats/caps, sunscreen, money, passports.
