Take a look at Egypt in a new way.
Dendera and Abydos. The temple of the goddess Hathor in Dendera is a women's temple. Ancient Egyptians saw Hathor as the goddess of love and the mother of pharaohs. People consider it one of the most powerful energy points in the world, and girls and women from all over the world come here to ask for help and intercession in family matters. The temple of Hathor has been perfectly preserved to our times since it was under the sands for a long time. The temple's ceiling contains the Dendera Zodiac, which depicts all 12 zodiac signs. Abydos is close to Dendera. It has the unique Temple of Seti I. The walls of this temple have the carvings of all the pharaohs' names. In Abydos, tourists can also see the famous Tomb of Osiris, the god of the underworld. His head is buried there.
Cairo is the modern capital of Egypt and a big metropolis. It is one of the largest cities in the entire Middle East that combines the flavor of the East and modernity. Two religions - Christianity and Islam - have something in common: many ancient Coptic temples and mosques, both ancient and modern. Most of us associate Egypt with Pyramids - the only wonder of the world that has survived to our times. The largest pyramids are on the Giza Plateau in Cairo. However, they are not the only ones. There are 137 Pyramids in Cairo and its surroundings. Also, Cairo has the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization with various artifacts. Cairo is beautiful in the evening: gorgeous lighting, the legendary laser show on the Pyramids, the Cairo Tower, which offers a panorama of the whole of Cairo, and the magnificent Nile embankment with numerous cafes. You can see all this beauty with your own eyes.
In the 21st century BC, Luxor (at that time, it was called Thebes) was the capital of Egypt, ruled by the pharaohs of the 11th dynasty. More than half of its historical attractions have been preserved to this day. The name Luxor means the city of the palaces. Built by the pharaohs both to live in and for the afterlife, these palaces still exist today. The city perfectly combines the spirit of antiquity with elements of modern times - temples and tombs with modern buildings and oriental bazaars, expensive cars with carriages, on which any traveler can ride, and tourist buses with donkeys with fruit carts. Luxor is gorgeous at night. A trip along the Nile at night on feluccas, illuminated temples that make them even more mystical, and night cafes and restaurants standing on the water – you can see and experience all this with your own eyes by visiting Luxor. This city will not leave anyone indifferent.
Today, we perceive Egypt as a Muslim country. However, both religions are adopted in the country nowadays. If we go back many years in history, Egypt was a Christian country before 639, and all Egyptians were called Copts (that's also what Egyptian Christians are called today). After the Arab invasion of 639, the Egyptians gradually converted to the Muslim faith. Yet, Egypt still has many Christian antiquities – temples and monasteries. The first Coptic monasteries are about 350 km from Hurghada to the north – the Monasteries of Saint Paul and Saint Anthony. The monastery of Saint Anthony is on the site of his burial. To reach it, tourists must climb 1,158 steps (equal to approximately 56 floors). The monastery of Saint Paul was built on the site of caves where he lived, renouncing everything earthly and devoting himself to God. Explore Christian Egypt.
Hurghada is not just about hotel complexes. Hurghada is a city that combines the flavour of a tourist resort with the typical Arabian world.
