Egyptian Venice

El Gouna is an area located just 30 kilometres from Hurghada airport. It is a fenestrated expensive resort that belongs to one person, or to be more precise — one family. The resort is made up of artificially dug channels filled with sea water, for which it received its second name — Egyptian Venice. El Gouna — Egyptian Venice consists of islands connected by these artificially dug channels, on which are located feneshebelnye hotels and private villas. Egyptian Venice is a completely separate area, with its own permit system, shops, hospitals and schools, El Gouna has its own large port — Marina, which is not only the epicentre of evening life, but also serves as a parking place for expensive private yachts. There is also a church and a mosque, huge areas of golf courses, the largest in the entire Middle East, and a small airport for private aeroplanes. Inside the area, apart from private cars, there are only 2 types of transport — three-wheeled tuk-tuks, Indian style, painted in bright cheerful colours, which perform the main role of taxis inside the city, and motor boats, which mainly transport passengers from hotels to the beaches, as not all hotels are located on the beach, most hotels are located on the banks of the canals. When visiting El Gouna, you are only 30km away from Hurghada and you get the impression of being on a completely different continent and a different standard of living.

Our private tour will start tentatively at 13.30 after lunch at the hotel. We will pick you up from the hotel on a comfortable minibus, on the way the guide will tell you the history of the creation of this wonderful «state within a state», as we always want to say about El Gouna. Our walk in the Egyptian Venice will start from the observation deck of the Golf Club, from where you will have a stunning panoramic view of the whole city, from where you will be able to make unique photos and videos as a souvenir. Next in the programme is an hour trip along the canals of El Gouna by motor boat (also individual), during which you can see the beauty of the whole Egyptian Venice, pass under low bridges, and maybe even make a wish while passing under them. Then we have a sightseeing tour of the so-called «old town» — the first district built in El Gouna, with its numerous canals and bridges, stone-paved narrow streets. The last stop on our journey through Egyptian Venice will be a visit to the Marina Port, where you can see many fenestrated private yachts, numerous cafes, discos and restaurants.

You will return to the hotel full of impressions and with beautiful photos, because not for nothing El Gouna is a favourite place for professional photo shoots. Visiting Egyptian Venice, you will see a new Egypt and realise how diverse this country can be.
